Senior midfielder,Charlie Sauter from Canandaigua was selected by the Finger Lakes coaches as the 2006 USLacrosse Academic All American.

# 1851  Semi Final Games - Classes B and C

Waterloo (#3) used overtime to beat Livonia (#2) 11-10 in the only game of the day that was not won by the higher seed. Peen Yan was an 18-1 winner over Midlakes in the other Class C semi final. In Class B Geneva beat Victor 13-6 and McQuaid Jesuit was a 15-11 winner over Eastridge.

It will be an all Webster semi final in the upper bracket of the Class A tournament as Thomas (#5) beat Fairport (#4) in double overtime. Schroeder beat last years's Champion, Penfield 13-4. All the other top seeded teams won, including Irondequoit, Canandaigua, Penn Yan Midlakes, Livonia, Waterloo and in Class B, Victor.

In a much anticipated game, Penn Yan avenged an earlier loss to Canandaigua, with an exciting last minute 8-7 home victory. Midlakes held of a late effort by Pal-Mac, Livonia put themselves into the finals of the GRALL Championship and Geneva and Waterloo were winners in Friday action.

Fairport defeated the last of the undefeated teams this afternoon when the beat visiting Irondequoit, 8-7 in overtime. Rush-Henrietta had a 10-9 win over Penfield, Pittsford played a great game against Schroeder but lost 7-9. The Thunder won in the 2nd OT. A total of 13 games were scheduled on Thursday.

Both Schroeder and Thomas were winners in games played today. The Warriors beat Amherst (Section 6) 10-4 and the Titans beat Fairport 13-12 in a game full of momentum swings. Other winners included Livonia, McQuaid Jesuit, Brighton, Churchville-Chili, Geneva and Canandaigua.

There were a number of big games played under wet conditions on Thursday. Penfield avenged an earlier loss to Fairport in a Monroe County game and Penn Yan used two over time periods to beat Canandaigua in Finger Lakes play. Six games today were against teams from outside Section Five and the Section Five teams won all but one of the contests. Fairport beat Orchard Park in a big game in Buffalo, Geneva beat Corning West, Penn Yan beat Amherst, HFL beat Hamburg and Victor beat Sweet Home. Canandaigua lost by one goal to Baldwinsville of Section Three.

The pre-game question asked if the strength of the Schroeder offense would be contained by the power of the Penn Yan defense. At the end of the second overtime the question could have been reversed, and it was Penn Yan 5-4. In other games Brighton took Victor and Aquinas took Waterloo.

The rematch of HF-L and Brighton drew attention tonight and the Cougars again were the victors, but in a closer game than back in early April. McQuaid Jesuit won another game by a single goal, as did Victor in their game with Waterloo. Canandaigua's Head Coach John Johnson won his 350th game. Ten other games were played in Section Five on Thursday.
